1. a. We thank all the garden angels who tidied up our garden yesterday. As God¡¦s good stewards, we are setting an example to our community in taking good care of this land.

2. Mission Workshop (II)
The Mission Workshop II -¡§Using evangelistic tools¡¨ will be held on Sun. Aug 15 from 1 p.m. ¡V 3 p.m. The speaker has been changed to: Ms. Stella Lee. All those who registered, please stay for a light lunch after the service.
3. Advisory Board
Last week we reported and motioned the following items:
a. City Centre Baptist wants us to fix the problem of water runoff to their parking lot. Construction will begin soon.
b. The 2nd Quarter financial statement shows that our financial situation is healthy. .
c. The 2011 Summer Camp will be held next June.
d. Sunday School will begin on Sept 12. This year we will add a Toddler Class for chidlren aged 5 and under.
e. We encourage parents to worship with their young children in either the English or Chinese worship and then bring the children to Sunday School.
f. For safety reasons, if children leave the church building, they must be accompanied by an adult.
g. The updated 2010 Events Calendar is posted on the bulletin board.
4. Dr. William Tsui and Dr. Philomen Choi lecture CD
Dr. Tsui¡¦s June lecture and Dr. Choi¡¦s Joint Summer Camp lectures are available on CDs that can bepicked up from the front desk. For Dr. Choi¡¦s CD, please pay $2/CD to the offering box. Thanks!
5. Amendment to Mission Statement
In our last Advisory meeting, due to the development of the English Ministry, a suggestion was made to amend the last phrase of our Mission Statement ¡§To uphold the Chinese tradition and virtues¡¨. Please submit your suggestions to one of the wardens or to Rev. Der by the end of Aug. Thanks!
6. Baptismal/Membership Class
Class 111 ¡§Baptismal/Membership Class¡¨ will begin on Sun. Sept 12 and run until Nov 21 from 9:30 a.m. ¡V 10:30 a.m. Please register on the bulletin board. For details, please contact Rev. Der.
7. ¡§In Heaven and earth, life is like a drama¡¨ Evangelistic Gathering
Our Mission Department will host ¡§In Heaven and earth, life is like a drama¡¨ evangelistic gathering on Sat. Sept 25 at 7:30 p.m. We are delighted to invite the director of Shower of Blessing, Rev. Jim Tam to be our speaker. We also invited news anchor, Eric Chau and his band UniSon, to lead us in singing some old folk songs. To better manage the number of people, we will issue free tickets for admission. Please prepare to bring friends and relatives to come.
8. It¡¦s a Boy
Congratulations to Justin and Joanne for giving birth a baby boy during the early morning on Aug 10. His name is Terence Christopher Kim and he weighed 7 lb 15 oz. We also congratulate the Loo family.
9. Floor Polishing
We will polish the church floor on Sat. Aug 21 morning. If you can, please come on, Thurs. Aug 19 at 8 p.m. to move our furniture to the sanctuary. Then on next Sun. Aug 22 at 9 a.m., we will move things back. Please contact warden Simon Pang for details. Thank you!
10. Priest¡¦s Footprint
Rev. Deng is on holiday today. Rev. Der will be on summer vacation starting tomorrow. He will be back on Sun. Sept 5. Aug 22-27, he will be engaged in his D.Min studies in Vancouver. While he is away, Rev. Deng will be presiding at St. E. Please feel free to contact her for pastoral care or to add announcements in bulletin. If there is a need for a Cantonese speaking pastor, she will contact Canon Edmund Der.
